Since behavioral symptoms are associated with increased severity of dementia, functional decline, probability of institutionalization, patient care costs, and caregiver burden [ 32– 34], an improvement in their management should translate into a tangible, clinically important benefit.
In these analyses it was obtained that there is a relatively high probability that next generation AVDs will be regarded as cost-effective intervention if the WTP threshold is located at €80,000 with declining probabilities if the WTP threshold is reduced.
Thus, despite declining probabilities of dying at those ages, numbers of life table deaths rose.
Beyond age 40 there was a declining probability of infection, although the variation in probability increased rapidly at the same time as age continued to increase.
Following this eradication, routine childhood vaccination against the causative agent was halted because of a declining probability of the importation and spread and occasional serious side effects of the vaccination [ 1].

Lognormal priors, which apply a soft maximum bound with declining probability towards older dates [ 126], are particularly appropriate for use with secondary calibration points, as the distribution can account for some of the error associated with the original estimate [ 127, 128].

The distribution of decline class probabilities within each group was assumed to follow the function described in Eqs. 2 and 3. We assumed that the mean of θ in each PD class assessed in each group is a function of δ, while the standard deviation of θ is the same for all latent classes but differs between groups.
Due to a marginally significant decline in probability of reproduction among the largest trees in the sample, a second-order term was included in the model, and the inflection point calculated using a numerical approximation with 95% confidence limits generated by bootstrapping (500 simulations).
