This descriptive correlational study was submitted for consideration and approved by the Ethics Committee on Research involving Human Subjects of the University of the State of Santa Catarina, under protocol number 130/2011, according to resolution 466/2012 of the Ministry of Health of Brazil with regard to the Declaration of Helsinki and its subsequent.
The United Nations has repeatedly affirmed its position with regard to the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples in General Assembly Resolution 1514 (XV), which states that the continued subjugation and domination of a people by a foreign nation violates their fundamental human rights and the United Nations Charter.
The study adhered to the ethical guidelines for nursing research in the Nordic countries with regard to participant information, including declarations of consent and anonymity [ 38].
The new programme also contributes to fulfilling Burkina Faso's commitments with regard to the September 2000 Millennium Declaration and to the Millenium Development Goals.
