The Declaration on Environment and Development, or Rio Declaration, laid down 27 broad, nonbinding principles for environmentally sound development.

Sadly, nothing of this development benefited the Chilean economy, as agreements like the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environment and Development were yet to be established.
The agreement incorporates wording from the 1992 Rio Declaration on Environment and Development stating that precaution "shall be widely applied by States according to their capabilities.

The winner is chosen by Pro Natura, the Swiss branch of Friend of the Earth, and the Berne Declaration, a development campaign, and presented in Davos, Switzerland, where world business leaders are gathering for the World Economic Forum (WEF), to highlight the "dark side of globalisation".
Led by 71 heads of State and Government and 88 other senior officials, mostly at the ministerial level, the World Summit adopted a Declaration on the Survival, Protection and Development of Children and a Plan of Action for implementing the Declaration in the 1990s.
The WHO declaration will also encourage research and development of a vaccine against the virus and reliable diagnostic tests.
The Rio Declaration of 1992 on Environment and Development has set up the first principle around human beings as "at the center of concerns for sustainable development" highlighting our inalienable entitlement to a healthy and productive life "in harmony with nature".
