The word "deck" is correct and usable in written English.
You can use it to describe a flat surface or area, typically outdoors and elevated from the ground, such as a deck of a ship, the deck of a patio, or a deck of playing cards. For example, "We enjoyed the warm summer evening on the deck of the ship."
