Since the sub-images decentralize the content of the images, these results show that the good predictions of the symmetry models are not a result of a strong center bias of the symmetry-saliency maps in combination with a bias of human eye fixations toward the center.
The analysis using randomly located sub-images shows that the symmetry models also perform well when the content of the images is decentralized.
