And it seems that all of these goals pretty much fall into one of three basic categories: Get out of debt, organize the house and get into shape.

"We're basically doing the same thing that an organized debt buyer does on the secondary market," says Thomas Gokey, one of Yates's team members on Strike Debt.

The students, calling themselves the Corinthian Fifteen, had organized a "debt strike," refusing to repay their student loans even at the risk of going into default.
"This settlement provides zero justice for the people who have been harmed by EDMC," said the Debt Collective, a pro-borrower group that has organized a nationwide "debt strike" against the Education Department.
