Myelosuppression (so called bone marrow suppression) is one of the most common toxic side effects of anti-proliferative chemotherapeutics and a common cause of death of treated cancer patients56.
For untreated S. granarius adults with Merpan®, the isolation of M. anisopliae was positive from the second day, following the feeding time for treatments T1, T2, and T3, until the first death of treated adults on the seventh day for T1, eighth day for T2, and ninth day for T3 (Table 1).
For B. bassiana, the isolation was also positive starting the second day, following the feeding time for the treatments T1, T2, and T3 until the first death of treated adults on the fifth day for T1, seventh day for T2, and eighth for T3 (Table 2).
For the mixtures of B. bassiana conidia + wheat flour, the isolations were also positive starting from the third day, following the feeding time for treatments T1, T2, and T3 until the first death of treated adults on 10th day for T1, 11th day for T2, and 12th for T3 (Table 2).
For the mixtures of M. anisopliae conidia + wheat flour, positive isolations were obtained starting from the third day, following the feeding time for treatments T1, T2, and T3, until the first death of treated adults on 12th day for T1 and 13th day for T2 and T3 (Table 1).
When tested in vivo, L. plantarum and LGG exacerbated the development of DSS-induced colitis and caused the death of treated mice, while, conversely L. paracasei was protective.
In 2006, a major trial found an increased risk of cardiovascular events and death of treating CKD patients to higher versus lower Hb targets [ 4].
Results are presented as the percentage of cell death = (slope of treated cells/slope of non treated cells) * 100±SE.
In addition, the EA extract was assessed for the amount that caused death of 50% of treated C57BL/6j mice (LD50) as described.
On the other hand, subsequent work using similar doses in beagle dogs led to remarkable emaciation, vomiting and arteritis [4,5,6,7] and death of 17% of treated baboons [9].
The 30-day complication rate, as defined by the occurrence of major amputation and/or death, of patients treated with AMS (ITT, 5.0%) was not significantly different (p = 1.0) from the rate fr those treated with PTA alone (ITT, 5.3%).
