Like JPEG, our proposed method is based on DCT but it is fundamentally different in the way it is applied and incorporates several additional transformations at compression stage such as a differential process, the minimization of high-frequency encoding and concurrent binary search algorithms at decompression stage.
As our proposed algorithm is not computing any specific quantization step and using distribution of DCT coefficients, it does not suffer with little changes in DCT coefficients.
The computation is done similar to the method shown in Fig. 2 by computing 1-D DCT, transposing it, and then computing 2-D DCT.
