The post-index (follow-up) period began 1 day after the discharge date of index hospitalization.
For all patients, date of index colonoscopy, age and sex were collected.
The data included delivery hospital, gestational age, date of index delivery, maternal age, parity, and marital status.
We excluded 769 cases due to discrepancy on the extent of the index surgery, date of index surgery, incomplete information, or incompatible codes.

Each cohort member accumulated person-years of follow-up from the date of index prescription until the earliest among the dates of outcome occurrence (ie, hospital admission for fracture) or censoring, that is, death, emigration or end of follow-up (fixed at 6 years after the date of index prescription).
