Much undervalued by the country as a whole, the ONS is a national jewel, one of the world's best statistics bodies, assiduously collating millions of datasets, only a fraction of which ever get the attention they deserve.
However, the available glacier inventories and datasets only provide total perennial-snow and glacier cover areas, despite the fact that snow, clean ice and debris covered ice have different melt rates and densities.
However, a lot of users from the general public are not familiar with the language of maps, especially the old ones, and are not able to understand the landscape appearance from 2D datasets only.
