Precise data on health care expenditure were obtained from a merge of Health Search CSD-LPD database with data on costs and tariffs of drugs, outpatient visits, diagnostic tests, and hospitalizations from the SiSSI Project.
The WHO-CHOICE project also assembles regional databases on the costs, and impact on population health.
13 14 The project is designed to provide regularly updated databases on the costs and the effects of a full range of promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative health interventions.
Examples from developed countries include analyses performed in United Kingdom [ 1], Australia [ 2] and in Oregon State in the USA [ 3] while a large database on cost-effectiveness analyses from all over the world is maintained by an American university [ 4].
