The third database derives from research conducted in 1993 of an outbreak that occurred in Sverdlovsk, Russia, in 1979 when a windblown plume of Bacillus anthracis released from a germ warfare facility led to at least 96 cases of skin and inhalation anthrax.
In spite of this, an analysis of the database from the research carried out by Dedecca et al. [ 21] showed that in 2000, 23 862 out of a total of 198 153 doctors had jobs that were not officially registered; the remainder were distributed among the categories of employers or self-employed and trainees.
Finally, once the data have been deposited in these databases, withdrawal from research – an option frequently found in informed consent documents – becomes challenging [ 2].
