We next compared the distribution of the 50 motifs from both scanning and de novo motif-finding approaches, as well as two alternate ARE versions from the ConSite [33], between 18 ARORs (A002 was excluded from the 19 strongly induced ARORs, not to skew the data) most responsive to DHT in luciferase enhancer assays with the 19 least responsive (Figure 4A).
