Our results also agree with previous cross-sectional [ 24] and longitudinal studies [ 26] suggesting that low CRF is an independent risk factor of MS. Based on the baseline data of the Dose-Responses to Exercise Training Study DRR's EXTRA), older men and women aged 57-79 years who were in the lowest tertile of VO2max had a 10-fold higher risk of MS compared with those in the highest tertile [ 24].
In order to obtain quantitative data on the dose-response relation with regards to pain-related behavior, five different doses of NASHA were administered.
Based on these data, we can obtain the dose response curve of MAPKActivity, which extends from 0.2 for an unstimulated sample to 1 for saturating levels of pheromone (1 μM).
However, no data were available on initiation, and the dose response for initiation was modeled using empirical curves whose parameters were estimated by fitting the complete model to the frank tumor data.
However, limited data are available on the effect of the dose response to fish intake on plasma levels of n-3 fatty acids.
Figure 2 shows the correlation of rate constants reported in the sources as indicated in "Experimental data", with the corresponding rate constants calculated using the available data on T, RH and pH, using the dose response function, Eq. (7).
This aspect may differ between the data underlying the dose-response model and the actual exposure scenario.
Such data cannot validate the dose-response model per se, but may produce valuable insights.
Key sources of uncertainty that have been identified include a) absent or inconsistent data on dose response, including low-dose effects and nonmonotonic dose response behaviors; b) pharmacokinetics across species and the lifespan; c) differences between the sexes; d) routes and extent of human exposures; e) sensitive windows of exposure; f) mechanism(s); and g) specific disease end points.
Two conditions make the dose-response part of mixture risk assessment difficult, lack of data on mixture dose-response relationships, and the need to address risk from combinations of chemicals because of public demands and statutory requirements.
