The combination of a detailed phylogeny based on an almost complete taxon sampling combined with genotype-based distributional data of lineages, taxa and valid species provides a solid foundation to address specific ecologically-explicit evolutionary hypotheses using Nannomys as a model system, i.e. in evolution of sex determination and host-virus co-evolution.
To test our hypothesis, we performed pan-genome (as well as core genome) analysis using the PGAP analysis pipeline [ 61] for L. monocytogenes lineages I, II and III by extrapolating the complete genome data of each lineage.
