Remotely-sensed hyperspectral data have been represented and processed as 3D rasters to extract textures [25].
Where data have been represented as box and whisker plots, the horizontal bar represents the median value, the whiskers represent the maximum and minimum value, and the box represents the interquartile range.
The following brief survey of visualization methods for metabolomic and fluxomic data shows that up to now metabolite pool size and flux data have been represented mainly in a network context whereas appropriate concepts to visualize regulatory information are missing.

Understanding the extent of pollution in waters and identifying waters for protection has been based in part on water quality monitoring data collected and shared by parties (federal, state, tribal, and local) throughout the U.S. To date, this monitoring data has been largely represented by data collected as a water quality sample (data collected by a technician in the field or analyzed in a lab).
The mean cell size kinetics in aging -taken from the corresponding values reported in the current literature- is depicted in Fig. 2. (In some examples from current literature aging kinetics are reported in terms of cell density. In these cases, the data has been homogenized and represented in terms of the corresponding cell mean size).
The 12-km resolution data has been obtained from Scripps for 1950 to 2000, representing current climate, and 2000 to 2100 representing future climate for the three scenarios and two models.
The similar way of representing sleep EEG data has been used in other studies (for example [11,12] ).
