Reliable data about graduation rates is notoriously difficult to find, although Veterans Affairs last fall started to collect graduation figures for veterans on the G.I. Bill and plans to eventually report its findings.
Private groups, like Washington Monthly, publish data on graduation rates and other measures.
Indeed, the National Center for Education Statistics' data on graduation rates at four-year colleges shows that those rates have increased across the board between 1996 and 2007.
It has proposed requiring colleges to issue a financial "shopping sheet," which would include data on graduation rates and students' debt burdens.
Toward the end of the film, a voice-over explains that the accountability guidelines in place during the filming excluded exit exam data from graduation requirements for students, but those test scores were included in NCLB accountability decisions about the school and its administration and faculty.
This past February, the White House launched its College Scorecard, which provides data about graduation and loan-default rates, the median amount students borrow, and net price, among other measures.
"In most states it's easier to find incarceration data than graduation data," Jackson said.

The survey asked basic demographic information, including age, sex, education institution and anticipated data of graduation.
Data on graduation and registration rates from training institutions can be used to identify successful training programs.
