This article conducts a comprehensive literature review of studies employing patent landscape analysis assessing research objectives, sources of patent data, dataset sizes, the structured or unstructured nature of data, and modes of data interpretation in order to provide an overview of methods of patent analysis across research fields.
As described in the US EPA (2005) cancer risk assessment guidelines, a weight-of-evidence evaluation for cancer requires consideration of existing human data, animal data, and mode-of-action data.
