The new bathrooms, which occupy space carved out from the adjacent garage (goodbye to a few parking spaces), have additional facilities and glamorous new looks: a chic central bank of sinks for women, handsome dark blue tile walls for men.
That said, they are Art Deco in spirit and design, with the original latticed windows, heavy, deep-red counterpanes and matching curtains, coloured wall lamps and roll-top glass lights in the bathrooms, which are fitted with moody dark tiles.
Typically, dark tiles with light grout really show the spaces in between tiles, and vice versa.
The black and white matrix shows slightly darker tiles than the previous trial (Figure 11a) for the first hours of the day.
The formal dining room features high plaster ceilings with dark wood accents and furniture, a striking blue tile pattern spanning the floor.
In addition to the two schemes mentioned above, there is also an Aristo pod: pale-blue cabinetry, dark green bathroom tiles and English country overtones (a stretch for me); and the Boho pod: pale lilac, beige and lapis blue tile that reminds Ms. Jagger of the "sea breezes" of her island home.
BATHROOM In contrast to the backwoods ambience of the cottages, the bathrooms have more of a sleek feel, with a sharp contrast between the large white pedestal sink and the dark slate tile floor.
In fact, it was quite gorgeous: opaque glass sliding doors, dark porcelain tile that looks like wood, an expanse of mirrored medicine cabinets, sinks that have plenty of counter space, a glassed-in shower and the pièce de résistance: a huge 70-gallon soap-shaped Waterworks bathtub.
The house designed by Mr. Turton also features dark gray tiles outside on the walkways and pool deck, and off-white porcelain tiles inside.
