Some fish species would benefit from the cleaner water, but the numbers of roach, chubb and dace would fall.

These include bream, barb, tench, dace, and other nongame species.
The Yenisey and its tributaries are rich in fish: the mountain streams of the headwaters support grayling, trout, lenok, roach, and dace; the middle course has sterlet, trout, goldilocks, several species of whitefish (genus Coregonus), and grayling; the lower course has Siberian lamprey, Siberian sturgeon, sterlet, Alpine char, trout, gold and silver carp, pike, and many others.
These and other daces are noted for the rosy to bright-red colouring assumed by the male during the spring breeding season.
The redbelly daces (Phoxinus) are well-known, with a southern (P. erythrogaster) and northern (P. eos) species.
But the noise generated by an event staged recently on Forman's site leaves them in fear of the planned development: "Only a month ago [Forman] rented out his open yard to Coca Cola for an advertising shoot involving 1,000 extras, plus cast, with a sound system so loud it caused nausea and set off car alarms in nearby Dace Road," Henson said.
