Not only do I have the professional knowledge necessary to be successful in this position, but I also have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in customer service, working with a diverse population including organization members, executives, volunteers, event attendees, and coworkers.
By the time I'd left the first agency, I had a job lined up: a month of 'temp to perm' customer service work at a call centre.
When Amazon is moving customer service work to New Delhi, customer service workers in Seattle, many of whom have been at Amazon since the beginning, are worried that management is ignoring their concerns.
"If there is a glitch with the outside delivery vendor, our customer service works with customers on a case-by-case basis to get it to them," Ms. Miller said.
The agency says it wants to reduce its total processing, delivery and customer service work force of 574,000 full-time employees by about 150,000, and it hopes to do so by offering retirement incentives, rather than by conducting layoffs.
The administration also wants to hire more people to answer telephone calls to the agency, allowing about 300 auditors detailed to this kind of customer service work to resume examining questionable returns.
"The technology we're talking about today is really touching on areas that we thought were always going to be the preserve of humans: non-routine tasks, things like driving a car – but then also the automation of basic social interaction, like call-centre work, customer service work and all that kind of stuff," says Srnicek. "A lot of jobs are going to be taken, possibly at a very rapid pace.

Currently most of the curation, listing review and customer service work is being done by Dennis and Fagiri themselves — and of course that's not going to scale.
