Any excess of the adhesive was removed and the adhesive was cured using a quartz-tungsten halogen curing device (XL2500, 3M ESPE, St . Paul MN, USA) for 20 s (10 s each for mesial and distal surfaces).
The samples were embedded in Technovit® 2000 LC, a fast light-curing methacrylate based resin, and hardened by UV-light in the Technotray CU light curing device (Heraeus Kulzer GmbH, Wehrheim, Germany).
The dual-cure resin cement specimens were then light cured for 20 s from two opposite sides with a quartz-tungsten halogen light-curing device (Hilux 200, Benlioglu, Ankara, Turkey) with an irradiance of 600 mW/cm2 and further cured in a light-curing unit (Dentacolor XS; Heraeus-Kulzer, Wehrheim, Germany) for an additional 90 s.
Three treatment protocol groups were established: (1) auto-curing (no light-curing device) (SC) as the control; (2) light curing with ECCO-Light lamp during 30 s, starting immediately after the disc was filled (HC30); and (3) light curing with ECCO-Light lamp during 60 s, starting immediately after the disc was filled (HC60).
Light-curing was performed with the VALO LED light-curing device (Ultradent Products, South Jordan, USA).
After 1 min of UV curing, the devices were placed in air under ambient conditions for stability testing.
We show that this deficit can be cured by appropriate device design.
The device cures the low-tech collector's dilemma and serves as a prime example of the artist's tendency to either accommodate or comment on the idea that the affluent customer is always right.
Infections associated with in-dwelling orthopedic devices can be difficult to cure without removing the device, and they are quite expensive to manage (Darouiche 2004).
