Teams define a curation task and provide a gold-standard biomedical literature corpus, while the curators are responsible for curating the desired data from the corpus, performing half of the work manually and half through interaction with the system.
An unofficial theme of the gathering was a desire among many curators to find ways to to define themselves against the juggernaut of the commercial art world while still being able to pay the bills.
They've shown no desire to become curators of a bunch of stuff -- even special stuff, really good stuff.
The idea for Axis Mundo grew out of the mutual desire of the curators to recover and bring attention to Meza's body of work, much of which disappeared after his death, Chayova said.
"Our conversation was less about possible board concerns than his strong professional desire as a curator to find an artistic way of appropriately commemorating the event," she said in an e-mail, "while also acknowledging that as a European, he may view this differently".
"The subtle choices of composition, layering, and scale inflect the physical activity of collage as deeply personal," says the show's curator, "and often loaded with desire and reverence".

The questions that can be addressed at this level include: Are all the reactions or more generally pathways desired by the curators present?
As the curator notes, Buddhism is about quelling desire; the secular religion of capitalism that fuels Japanese and American life is entirely concerned with stimulating it.
