The key phase for this experiment was the training phase, since we aimed to determine whether fish could learn discrimination after cumulative surface area, total brightness, density of elements and the overall space occupied of the arrays were controlled for.
Cumulative surface area, total brightness, density of elements and the overall space occupied were controlled for in half of the presentations (the same stimuli used in experiments 2 and 3 with the fish), while in half of the presentations were not controlled for.
The procedure for this experiment was similar to the previous one, with the exception that during the pre-training and training phases we used pairs of stimuli in which cumulative surface area, total brightness, density of elements and the overall space occupied by the arrays were simultaneously controlled.
During context conversion a cumulative high dynamic range (HDR) image of the sky brightness (including beam and diffuse elements) for the chosen period is produced for 145 discrete Tregenza (Fig. 5) patches of the sky (Fig. 8).
Daylighting theories, using cumulative frequency distribution of outdoor illuminance and regression models based on brightness of light output, outdoor illuminance and electric light power to estimate daylight-linked lighting control savings, have been developed and assessed.
The cumulative observation consisted of 15 to 60 exposures, depending on the brightness of the comet and the observation conditions.
