Its lifespan ranges from 25 to 60 years, though difficulties in propagation have seen low cultivation rates.
Cultivability of environmental microbes often ranges below 1% of the total bacteria [ 8], but depending on cultivation technique and habitat, much higher cultivation rates have been reported, for example up to 10% for a freshwater lake [ 9] and 23% for a marine tidal sediment [ 10].
