WHAT WE LIKED Pineapple and avocado salad, avocado stuffed with crabmeat, jalea, yuca rellena, shrimp empanadas; picadillo, paella, pernil, Cuban-style pargo, hamburger; flan, battata, chocolate mouse cake, tres leches cake with guava.
All three, along with the likes of Cuban-inspired rum-coconut flan, homey fruit pies, an intense concentrated triple chocolate ganache, a decadent brownie a la mode concoction, a smooth, light ricotta cream cake and ice creams from Fletcher's of Southampton (try the vanilla and cinnamon) are at times available at dinner as well.
WHAT WE LIKE Cuban-style meatballs, hummus with plantain chips, chorizo, garlic shrimp, garbanzo bean salad; roast pork, chicken with rice, flank steak with chimichurri sauce, Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries; coconut flan, tres leches cake.
Cuban desserts like dulce de leche and flan are fine, but no contest for sweet vanillekipferl.
It's a downtown Cocoa Beach favorite serving all the Cuban classics, from palomilla steak to fried yuca to flan.
WHAT WE LIKED Garlic bread, Spanish sausage, shrimp in garlic sauce, chicken wings, Caesar salad, Castillo salad, grilled half-chicken, grilled skirt steak, grilled pork ribs, grilled pork chops, pulled pork sandwich, pressed Cuban sandwich, rice, beans, fried sweet plantains, sautéed vegetables with garlic, flan, rice pudding, coffee.
Its very good Cuban fare includes Cuban black beans and yellow rice, fried plantains, and various flans.
