The study cited an example of some Indonesian rubber plantations that have shifted from a traditional single crop operation to complex agriculture, with rubber trees growing alongside plants of fruits, fiber and other products.
"KisanHub blends diverse datasets like farm, crop, operation records, weather, satellite, commodities, farm machinery, sensors, among others, to provide data-driven decision points," adds Shende.
It damaged some 450 commercial farms throughout the state — dairy farms, feed crop operations, vegetable growers, maple sugaring businesses — an estimated 10,000 acres in all.
Each of the crop operations is designated as light, medium or heavy work and relevant tractor sizes are allocated to each work type.
Straw use decisions are additionally influenced by farmer attitudes towards soil compaction and structure, timeliness of crop establishment following harvest and attitudes towards managing further crop operations (e.g. baling and straw carting) during the harvest period.
Each crop in the model has specific machinery and labour requirements, in hours per hectare, based on required crop operations (e.g. ploughing, sowing) and their frequency (Table 1).
The main components of the model are: activities for crops, work rates for the various crop operations, levels of chemical applications (both in the form of crop protection products and fertilisers), initial seed requirements, grain drying requirements and the associated diesel use for this operation, yield data for grain and straw for each crop, contract costs and diesel use by machinery.
Machinery available on the farm is shown in Table 2. Crop operations that require machinery not common to this type of farm can be bought in as contract machinery with associated labour (specifically the 'swather' for cutting oilseed rape and baler for straw).

In practice, the cropping operation is implemented inside the projector (tilde{P}) by simply restricting the projection to the detector limited field of view N.
