The transfer of dredged material into the ocean or internal dumping in the bay requires a 1 10 dilution to mitigate the risk and bring the risk levels close to that in the EPA criteria, below which there is less likelihood of adverse effects to the biota, and a 1 100 dilution to maintain the original characteristics of the ocean disposal control area.
Using this definition and the criteria below, which derived from the definition, local initiatives in the five countries will be identified, examined, and selected for inclusion.

We have not assigned DU status to 'limnetic Lake Whitefish' and 'benthic Lake Whitefish' per se across the whole distribution of these populations because of the evidence for independent evolution of each benthic and limnetic population as a result of local adaptation (see analysis of criterion 3, below), which justifies the independent DU status of particular benthic and limnetic populations.
