"The video and photographs show black boys who are happy, emotional, and positive rather than the traditional stereotype which paints black males in hoodies as being hardened, intimidating criminals," explains the artist.
An article – Swiss vote to deport foreign criminals – explained that "under Switzerland's political system, any group wanting to change the law can collect 100,000 signatures to force a referendum" at national level.
However, it's still a good movie, and it doesn't ignore its own hypocrisy (there's a great scene where the protagonists' black co-criminals explain to him the difference in his risk versus their risk), and it is the kind of adult drama we all claim to want from the studios.
"Our focus is to get these women back on their feet by addressing the underlying causes of their criminal behavior," explains Georgia Lerner, the WPA's executive director.
"Slavery takes place at the bottom of the ladder, with small mom-and-pop criminal enterprises," explains Professor Kevin Bales, co-founder of the organisation Free The Slaves and the index's author.
This subtle tale of certainty and uncertainty (the criminal never explains himself, on film and apparently in life) is abetted by storytelling and editing that make judicious use of misdirection, even as the camera captures panoramic beauty aside long takes of unblinkingly observed detail.
It may seem bizarre, but "speech itself can constitute criminal conduct when the crime is a criminal agreement," explained Lisa Mathewson, a Philadelphia attorney who often defends clients in conspiracy cases.
"We are here to look for people breaking rules or criminal acts," explained Uwe Stellmacher, a policeman who clearly wasn't sure if he had witnessed either.
"It was very important to her, all those years, that people know that her son never did anything wrong to Bernard Goetz, that Bernard Goetz was the criminal," he explained.
