With each volunteer creating the capacity for at least 8.5 additional participants in sport (yes - eight and a half people!), it's vital that we keep the volunteering spirit of London 2012 alive to allow sport to develop and grow.
Importantly, most of the challenges were not related to technology issues (such as not having reception on their phones when they were out in the field), but related to health systems issues: mobilising the necessary funding, reorienting training systems towards supporting mHealth and creating the capacity for ongoing technical support.
