Other studies report the effect on health care interactions or coverage of interventions, such as the percentage of pregnant women having at least three antenatal visits, the proportion of facility births or the number of pregnant women tested for HIV.
Coverage of interventions such as measles and diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus (DPT) vaccinations, and skilled birth attendance are widely accepted indicators of progress toward improving health systems and achieving the MDG (14, 15).
