There's no decent Chinese takeout.
That's two copies of the spring 2011 L.L. Bean catalogue; two credit-card statements even though you've absolutely signed up for paperless billing; the cardboard casing for the DVD box set of "Sports Night" — sans DVDs, of course; and six takeout menus from a Japanese restaurant you don't order from.
Yet they are consistently ignored; what seems more pertinent, of more interest, are courses in "Chinese takeout" like the one offered by a New York cooking school.
"Users and developers interested in RSS alternatives can export their data, including their subscriptions, with Google Takeout over the course of the next four months," he wrote.
And of course, you have your pizza, your Chinese takeout, your local McDonald's on the corner.
The most decadent of all was the last course which for me, was sadly relegated to a takeout box at home a few hours hence, as the first 5 courses had taken quite the toll on my stomach capacity.
In my first week here, I figured out my new beat: the Gristede's with the wide aisles and good produce, the nicest dry cleaner, the Sichuan takeout with the best kung-pao chicken and, of course, the library.
And, of course, there is the signature ice cream, served at the booths or the takeout window.
Of course, it was the furthest thing imaginable from the phosphorescent orange jelly of dubious takeout counters.
