The school spends an average of $1,200 a year for each society's faculty adviser, while students cover the cost of activities through dues and fund-raising.
It identifies the activities performed, traces costs to these activities, and then uses various cost drivers to trace the cost of activities to the final products/services.
The Federal share of the cost of activities carried out in accordance with this subsection shall be 100percentt, except for activities carried out under paragraph (1)(G), for which the Federal share shall be 50percentt.
The Federal share of the cost of activities carried out under a cooperative research and development agreement entered into under this chapter shall not exceed 80percentt, except that if there is substantial public interest or benefit, the Secretary may approve a greater Federal share.

Funds made available under this subsection shall be available for obligation in the same manner as if the funds were apportioned under chapter 1 of title 23, United States Code, except the Federal share of the cost of activities carried out using such funds shall be 80percentt.
