The new coating is composed of an insoluble chromic compound, phosphate, organic resin and specially developed corrosion-preventive additives, which effect a self-healing action in cracks generated on the surface of the steel sheet while forming.
Several efforts have been made using corrosion-preventive practices, and the use of green corrosion inhibitors is one of them (Anuradha et al. 2008; Mudhoo and Sharma 2010; Sharma et al. 2010b; Sharma et al. 2010c; Aboia and James 2010; Sharma et al. 2009b; Sharma et al. 2009c).
Laboratory investigations were performed in order to compare the electrochemical behaviour of amino alcohol-based inhibitors currently used to prevent (preventive inhibitors) and to control (curative inhibitor) corrosion of steel in concrete, respectively.
Corrosion can be prevented in two ways.
The technique is intended to prevent corrosion.
Zinc anodes prevented corrosion.
This layer prevents corrosion effectively.
Prevent future corrosion.
It assesses the corrosion risk depending on parameters which are easy to monitor and allows both preventive conservation/restoration of cultural heritage buildings and safe design of new durable building components.
The development of suitable preventive conservation strategies for these important signs of our culture, requires their corrosion behaviour to be investigated in order to understand the electrochemical phenomena that occur on the metallic surface.
