SCIMM also generates a score for the probe set, defined as the difference of the Bayesian information criterion (BIC) value for the two-component model and the BIC value for the corresponding one-component model.
For the model with 20 components we found one component corresponding to DMN, regardless of the chosen template (correlation values for ref_default_mode.nii and DMN_ICA_REST. nii were 0.58 and 0.37, respectively).
For each subject, two diagonal (identity) covariance components were used to model the measurement noise with one component corresponding to each of the two wavelengths of light used in the model (specifically 830nm and 690nm were simulated).
