Taking advantage of these estimated drift velocities, we calculate corresponding beam broadening spectrum in accordance with the expression developed by [Chu, Y.H., Wang, C.Y. Plasma structures of 3-meter type 1 and type 2 irregularities in nighttime mid-latitude sporadic E region. J. Geophys. Res. 108 (A7), 1282, doi 10.1029/2002JA009661, 2003].
It is suggested that nitrogen atoms substitute for oxygen in the layers of α-MoO3 leading to an increased strain and a corresponding peak broadening in the XRD pattern.
As the milling time increases, the intensities of Mg, Mg2Cu, and Cu peaks gradually decrease, and the corresponding widths broaden, which is mainly attributed to the grain refinement and accumulation of microstrain during the ball milling.
If X-ray lines were formed in a plasma moving with such velocity, the corresponding Doppler line broadening would be detectable in the high-resolution spectrum.
Consequently, the band widths are narrowed and the corresponding bandgap is broadened by the localization effect.
