My job is to read the entire correspondence (either the thread of emails, string of text messages, or whatever) and tap into their unique way of phrasing things.
There were approximately 40 separate emails and more than 50 primary text messages between the researcher and the educators, which generated multiple correspondences through ongoing discussion threads, phone messages and phone communication.
There will be plenty of threads and motes within the new batch of correspondence that will be relevant to discussions of particular climate papers or individual researchers.
You may work in an environment where internal communication is very casual, and "Here are my notes on your assignment" exists on the same email thread as "Still on for drinks at 7?" But remember, internal correspondence may be the only reference your colleagues have for your communication style.
For each task, your teammates who are following that task can comment within the thread, and just that slight option actually reduces the amount of and size of correspondence around a task.
By redeeming this correspondence we try to make explicit a convergence of ideas and structures between two distinct threads of Theoretical Computer Science.
Emails from Help Scout look like one-on-one email threads, as they actually come from a real person with a personalized signature — not like the correspondence one would receive from a help desk.
