THI and CHI can be helpful for detecting tumours less than 10 mm in size in echo-inhomogeneous dense tissue, for characterising tumour morphology with dynamic enhancement studies and for performing a definitive core needle biopsy or vacuum-assisted biopsy in cases of tumour lesions less detectable in fundamental B scan or tumours located in the deep tissue near the intercostal muscles.
