But even in program CoPs, URM students can face greater barriers establishing their legitimacy and face greater risks of marginalization [ 18, 19].
Students have opportunities to talk about these CoP challenges and barriers with their coaches and coaching group peers, which in turn creates a supplemental CoP for students to rely on during their graduate school years and beyond.
