Since NVP-BHG712 pheno-copied the effects of sEphB4-Fc in our model we assume that inhibition of EphB4 forward signaling is the predominant cause of inhibition of angiogenesis at least in the model described here.
This supports our statement that thin AlGaAs layers copy the underlying morphological structure an effect observed before and ascribed to the low diffusion coefficient of AlGaAs on a GaAs surface [40].
In the four remaining trials with a higher mean BMI in the TT group (≥28 kg/m), a single copy of the effect allele did not cause any apparent gain in BMI (Fig. 5a).
A single copy of the effect allele was associated with a significant increase in logBMI z score in only one trial, with the lowest mean BMI in the homozygous TT group [ 25].
In this study, a meta-analysis demonstrated that each additional copy of the effect allele (A/C) was associated with an average increase in BMI of 0.19 z score units and a mean weight gain of 0.20 z score units.
Each additional copy of the effect allele increased BMI by a mean of 0.19 z score units (95% CI 0.13, 0.24; p = 2.26 × 10−11), equivalent to approximately 1.62 kg/m (Fig. 2).
Meta-analysis of the seven cohorts revealed that, in the women with PCOS, each additional copy of the effect allele was associated with a body weight increase of a mean of 0.20 z score units (95% CI 0.14, 0.26; p = 1.02 × 10−10), which is equivalent to approximately 4.79 kg (Fig. 3).
Then, in two separate analyses for gains and losses, the median expression level of each gene was compared between the samples with copy number gain/loss and samples with normal copy number to evaluate the effect of copy number alterations on gene expression.
Moreover, since the anti-inflammatory effect of the treatments was determined in terms of a significant decrease in the number of mRNA copies, the said effect on cytokine production may be narrowed down directly to the transcriptional level, specifically the nuclear factor kappa enhancer binding protein (NF- κB) pathway.
Comparing the expression of the same genes when present in different copy number eliminates the effect of gene content differences.
That is, increasing the SCC2 gene copy number bypassed the effect on viability of transcriptional repression of SCC4, and the bypass did not require the Scc4-binding region of Scc2.
