Tone injection (TI) method extends, in each subcarrier, the conventional QAM constellation by translating the original constellation and partitions these extensions into cosets [8, 9].
For example, when a linear MMSE equalizer is employed for in high signal-to-noise ratio, the minimum of the SER is equivalently achieved [2] by both the conventional 4-QAM constellation and the rhombic constellations with the same perimeter, that is, the perimeter of the largest convex polygon consisting of the lines (see [1] for further details).
