Retailers have recognised that the efficiency and convenience experienced by online shoppers needs to be part of the in-store experience, with click and collect services having become mainstream.
Respondents in our study who sought health care overseas, made decisions based on a number of factors including costs, convenience, experiences of friends and family, perceived quality of care and diagnostic ability, ease of communication with practitioners, presence of social or familial networks who could facilitate access to doctors, and type of treatment sought.
The new boss also noted that Morrisons used a huge team of people at head office to run the operation, making it unprofitable, and that he would use a slimmed down team all with convenience store experience.
"But that convenience and experience is diminished by having to be at the computer to hear it.
In a reflection of changing shopping habits, Sainsbury's convenience stores experienced a 3% rise in underlying sales – stripping out the impact of new store openings.
