'contingently' is a correct and usable word in written English.
It means "based on chance, circumstances, or conditions that are not fully predictable or within one's control." It is used to describe something that is not definite or certain, but dependent on certain factors. Example: The success of the project was contingently dependent on the economy's stability.
So by recognizing the existence of contingently nonconcrete objects and by reconceptualizing both the contingency of concrete objects and the notion of an essential property in what seem to be harmless ways, there appears to be a way to interpret SQML so that it is consistent with actualism.
The opinio communis relies on God's freedom to save contingency in the world: everything other than God is ultimately contingent, because God wills and acts freely and contingently in creating, and so it is logically possible for the things in the world not to have been or to have been otherwise.
