Data were extracted on items of style and content of case reports, using a piloted data extraction form.
Providing sufficient information on the content of case management was an important facilitating factor in both models, as it improved awareness as well as acceptance of case management.
The results for style of reporting and content of case reports in the three groups are summarised in Table 1, while Figure 1.
For readability characteristics were clustered around themes within the sections; aims of case management in palliative care, characteristics of content of case management, characteristics of structure of case management, and general conditions.
We used four headings to partition our list of aims and characteristics: aims of case management in palliative care, characteristics of content of case management in palliative care, characteristics of structure of case management in palliative care and general conditions.
All factors in Table 3 were synthesized into the following themes: case manager characteristics, content of case management, organizational structure, collaboration with dementia care partners, quality of care, and law & legislation and financing.
