The Cd contents of "Nipponbare", NIL qcd4-1, aNILNIL qcd4-2 leates at 35 days after heading were 54, 49, and 70% as much as at 5 days, respectively (P < 0.05), and NIL qcd4-1,2 contents had decreased by 40% (P < 0.001).
However, grain Cd content of the high-Cd NIL was significantly greater than that of the low-Cd NIL at all harvests (P < 0.001).
Although whole-plant Cd content of the low-Cd NIL was 6% greater (across all harvests) than the high-Cd NIL (P < 0.05), this was attributable to 15% greater biomass in the low-Cd NIL.
