The study was approved by the French regulatory authorities, the Comité Consultatif sur le Traitement de l'Information en matière de Recherche dans le domaine de la Santé (CCTIRS) (consultative committee on information processing in health research) in July 2009, and the Commission Nationale Informatique et Libertés (CNIL) (commission for protection of private data) in December 2009.
Plans are underway to establish the GMG remuneration committee information and consultative forum (RCICF), which will consist of union and employee nominated representatives.
The redistributive approach was reflected in JALI's contribution to an HLP consultation in November, where calls were made for the post-2015 discussion to: 'be slowed to enable meaningful input from communities that cannot participate in online consultations and presently lack the means to participate in – much less have information about – other consultative processes' (69 p. 13).

The American Psychological Association APAA) – the official professional body for psychologists in the US – officially rejects torture but it also supports the role of psychologists in interrogation: "It is consistent with the APA Ethics Code for psychologists to serve in consultative roles to interrogation and information-gathering processes for national-security related purposes".
