This randomized controlled study failed to show any benefit of brief intervention in reducing risky sexual behavior compared to the other types of consultation (provision of condoms only or standard pre-travel consultation).
iii) Observations of client-provider interactions This component entails a structured non-participatory observation of health consultations, encompassing both the counseling process (how clients are treated and whether they actively participate) and the technical content of a consultation (provision of essential information and its technical accuracy).
In countries where legalising physician-assisted death is being contemplated, the development of such a consultation provision could also be considered in order to safeguard the practice of euthanasia (as it can provide safeguards to adequate performance of euthanasia and assisted suicide).
"The only attorney-consultation provision justifying a closed session is the need to be counseled on pending litigation," Francke said.
This high specificity indicates that general practitioner assessments of a positive smoking status are highly reliable and could be used as the basis for mail-based or within-consultation provision of smoking care advice and support.
Solutions to many of the problems highlighted in this report, such as improved empathy in diagnostic consultations, provision of good information, support and advice on self-help, would cost little or nothing to implement.
