A consultation ordered by Education Minister John O'Dowd ended in May and he is still considering the future of GCSEs in Northern Ireland.
We aim to collect data on primary care consultations, ordering of diagnostic tests (radiographs, MRI and CT scans), prescribed medications, referrals to other professionals or services and issuing of sickness certificates.
There were 196 patients (33.2%; CI 29.5 to 37.1) who had consultations ordered and, 1419 total tests were ordered on the day of the office visit out of a total of 590 patients that attended the appointment.
We identified 77,163 referrals for consultation orders of all types originating from all sources (see Figure 1).
Therefore we surveyed patients soon after the visit that prompted the consultation order (within 2 4 weeks) and we attempted to partially mitigate this bias among physicians by providing information about the patient so they could reference their chart notes about the visit prompting the consultation request.
