U-shaped thin-walled reinforced concrete (RC) bridge beams have been widely used in urban construction of rail viaducts in China, such as in Shanghai Subway Line 6 and Guangzhou Subway Line 2, due to the advantage of lower construction elevations, the excellent sound proof effect and attractive appearance (He 2003).
