Signs of inter-protein correlation can be used in some cases as constraints to select the arrangement of two interacting proteins or protein domains (Pazos et al, 1997), or to guide protein docking experiments (Tress et al, 2005), even though the corresponding residues might not enter in direct physical contact (Halperin et al, 2006).
